Horrendous

These numbers should be illuminated. Argh!

Devastation. Loneliness. Despair. These, my loyal readers, are my only friends today.

Perhaps that's an over-reaction. OK. You got me. Over-reaction is my middle name. But truly, something terrible has happened: last night, our oven died.

It's a terrible time. It means I can't bake. Or even roast a chicken (which is less awful than it sounds, since we're eating at a friend's tonight). But still - sympathy please.

Repairman is coming on Monday. Think happy thoughts.

  3. Oh no!!! I hope it is easily (and cheaply) repairable! What a bummer!

Although, I must say, if you think about it... You killed an oven. That's kinda cool.

    Hardcore :D

  7. Sympathy, indeed. I once spent a month with no oven and no dishwasher while I struggled to install them.

I heard you can make pizza on a grill, maybe cakes would bake in there. If you've got one, that is.

  8. Oh no!!! This does sound like a great opportunity to try any new restaurants you've been waiting for...or to eat ice cream as a meal.

Hang in there! It'll be Monday soon!! :-)

  10. Oh no! I hope that it is quickly (and cheaply) fix for you. I was lost when my element blew and had to wait a week for it to be repaired. :(

  11. Mr. P, I've never had an oven die on me. Must be devastating! A day without baking is like a day without sunshine. (That does not apply to me however. I LOVE a day without sunshine!)

  12. ooh there was an oven in my old house which looked like that! it stopped working all the time. the numbers wouldn't light up and the oven wouldn't turn on.

switch it off at the plug, then turn it back on, hold down ... the + and - buttons then you have to press another button and it might come on...

or is it press and hold the middle 2 buttons....

umm cant quite remember but give it a go....

  15. Oh my, I just found you and think I am in love with you. Seriously, found you from Not So Humble Pie. I will have to figure out your recipes, as the US decided metric system did not exist, but I have a feeling it will be soo worth it!
